The charger works 100% with my Dell laptop.
The power cord connector is an old style cable connector which is normally used to power desktop computers and screens.
The connector which connects to the laptop does have the small pin in the middle of the connector so the charger does charge the battery as well, unlike some generic chargers which power the laptop up but does not charge the battery.
